He [Willie Mullins] said to let him warm up a bit as he hadn't schooled him over Easyfix hurdles. I'm sure he's going to make a chaser in time. It's an honour to ride for Willie. I came here once when it first opened many years ago. It's in great condition and it's beautiful good ground. Dad is only after arriving in at the airport 10 minutes ago. He was in Australia watching Simenon finish third. This was the only horse he had that was suited to run today. It's great to get a winner on this day. He's a good horse, but he needs good ground and where he goes next is dictated by the ground. He might be let off and come back in the Spring. His jumping got better as the race went on. A hurdle race for five yrs old and upwards, maidens at starting
Weights - 11st 12lb; Mares allowed 7lb
Riders - -The Rules and Instructions relating to the Overnight Nomination of shall not apply in this instance. The top 12 horses declared in race card order will be allocated riders from the selected British based and Irish based teams by lot. Trainers of any remaining horses in this race should declare a rider of their choice. The draw for riders will take place at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday 13th October with the toss of a coin to determine which team draws odd and even numbers. Individual riders will then be drawn by ballot. Points will be scored by the first eight placed horses on a scale of 15-12-10-8-7-6-5-4, if the horse is eligible to score points, and the team that accumulates the highest number of points will be deemed the winner. In the event of there being less than 12 horses declared or a non runner the equivalent rider in the opposing team eg. Nos. 1 & 2, Nos. 3 & 4 etc., will not be eligible to score points. The Stewards of the I.N.H.S. Committee have suspended Rule 155 for the purpose of this race. in the challenge will wear the registered colours with each country's team wearing a distinguishing cap in their national colours.
