An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving the winner, Anna Bunina (FR), ridden by Jack Garritty and HECTOR’S HERE, placed second, ridden by Trevor Whelan.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Anna Bunina (FR)’s placing as the interference was caused by both horses moving off their intended lines and coming together, with HECTOR’S HERE becoming momentarily unbalanced as a result.
The interference was found to be accidental as Anna Bunina (FR) lugged quickly right at the same time as HECTOR’S HERE hung left.
Jack Garritty, the rider of the winner, Anna Bunina (FR), was suspended for 2 days for using his whip down the shoulder in the forehand inside the final furlong.
