The Starter reported that Thomas Greatrex, the rider of Perfect Symphony (IRE), had originally entered the wrong stall.
The rider and Starter were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
Greatrex was cautioned.
Shortly after the start, Pedro De Styles (FR), placed fourth, lugged sharply left hampering Mabo (GB), placed fifth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Pedro De Styles (FR).
Approximately 1½ furlongs out, Elusif (IRE), placed sixth, shifted quickly left-handed away from the whip causing SOLDIER’S SON, placed eighth, to be tightened for room on the rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Elusif (IRE).
The performance of Beastie Boy (IRE), which started favourite and finished last of twelve runners, was considered.
The representative of Richard Hughes could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Beastie Boy (IRE) shortly after the race failed to reveal any abnormalities, other than the gelding was coughing.
An enquiry was held to consider interference entering the home straight involving Chase That Dream (GB), placed third, ridden by Jack Garritty and Mabo (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Rossa Ryan.
Ryan was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he switched right-handed off the bend when insufficiently clear of Chase That Dream (GB), causing Garritty to be checked in his run.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Perfect Symphony (IRE), placed second, lost its right fore shoe and was struck into on its right hind.
