Emily Goldfinch (GB), drawn 2, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the furlong pole when the winner Colonel Frank (GB), ridden by Jack Mitchell, interfered with Tawny Port (GB), which finished last of the six runners, ridden by Oisin Murphy.
Mitchell was suspended for 2 days for careless riding for allowing his mount to drift right-handed away from the rail without sufficient correction, causing Murphy to have to take a check.
The winner Colonel Frank (GB) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Newmarket on 27 June 2019 where the gelding finished twelfth of the thirteen runners, beaten by 23 ½ lengths.
Mick Quinn’s explanation that the gelding settled in the race better today over 6 furlongs having run too freely over 1 mile last time out, was noted.
Colonel Frank (GB) was routine tested.
