Permission was given for Makyon (IRE) to go early to post.
Approaching the final furlong, Dark Defender (GB), placed third, lugged slightly right causing the rider of Ey Up Its Mick (GB), placed fourth, to ease momentarily, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Dark Defender (GB).
Following the race, Alistair Rawlinson reported that Teruntum Star (FR), placed sixth, jumped awkwardly from the stalls and was never travelling thereafter and Paddy Mathers reported that Ey Up Its Mick (GB) suffered interference approaching the final furlong.
