FormscanBy Alan Magee - INTHEPOCKET was a smart novice over hurdles winning a Grade 1 at Aintree and made a bright start over fences on his reappearance last term. The selection was sidelined for nearly a year until making an impressive return at Wexford in October and his decisive victory over Farren Glory and Ifiwerearichman has been well advertised since. Ile Atlantique and Firefox showed a similar level of form over hurdles, and both have also scored over fences. Ile Atlantique easily made all over 2m4f at Navan, while Firefox also drops back in trip and may benefit from more forceful tactics after going close in the Grade 1 Drinmore Novice Chase at Fairyhouse.

He’s a good horse and Jack said he’s so straightforward,. We thought he needed two and a half miles and that’s why we were making every post a winning post. Jack said he could go two and a half but he’s got so much boot and is so relaxed that everything is very easy to him. He looks exciting and you’d like his attitude. He’s a nice sort and is just learning on the job. He was very green turning for home and when Patrick asked him, it took a while for the penny to drop up the straight. I think he’s championship bumper class so he’ll be heading down that road. He’ll probably come back here for the Dublin Racing Festival.

The Supreme form looks very good, I’m delighted with that and I think that is our first Grade One winner for the McManus family so really happy with that. He warmed into it, he was a little bit slow over the first couple but he’s a horse we’ve always thought a lot of and it’s nice to see him go and prove it. I was a bit worried about coming back after Cheltenham, but it didn’t make a difference. He was really good. I imagine he’ll be going in a field now and then we’ll see. He’s obviously got good size and scope so we’ll see, there are no plans at the moment.

She was keen today but didn't go at all the last day,. Fair play to Denis (O'Regan), he gave her a great ride the last day when she got shell-shocked. She was grand and settled before today's race but during the race was really on it. She was highly strung in her early days but is grand and is a nice mare who is well handicapped. . She was up in distance and is from a great family. I'm delighted for John O'Dwyer who owns her and bred Rock On Ruby. John lives a field away from John Nallen (point-to-point handler) so Champion Hurdle, Gold Cup and Grand National winners all came from that area of Tipperary.
