Review limerick 1st Feb
Former Gold Cup-winning jockey Conor O'Dwyer landed his first double as a fledgling trainer at Limerick.
O'Dwyer, who took out his licence in 2007, firstly hit the target with Uncle Tom Cobley before landing a big gamble with AR Aghaidh Leat.
The former set the ball rolling with a three-length reverse of Mickey Blue Eyes in the opening www.limerickraces.ie Maiden.
O'Dwyer said: "He deserved that after falling here at Christmas.
"He's always shown us a bit at home, but he's a bit immature.
"He should be a nice horse next year."
AR Aghaidh Leat landed an almighty punt in the UL Bohemians RFC Raceday Maiden Hurdle.
The four-length winner was backed in from 25-1 to 7s.
O'Dwyer added: "I was a bit disappointed with his first run in a bumper, but jumping was always going to be his forte.
"I thought he had an each-way chance and, in time, he should make a nice three-mile chaser.
AR Aghaidh Leat is owned by the trainer's wife, Audrey O'Dwyer.
