Windhover trained by Susan Finn produced a fine display to run out the two lengths winner of the 1m1f handicap at Ballinrobe on Tuesday evening.

Despite being the complete outsider of the field the winner did not surprise his trainer.

´We fancied him, we always knew he was a decent horse, but it has taken three years to get him right. He nearly died when gelded and then broke down badly,´ said Susan Finn.

The favourite Espartano was pulled up having burst a blood vessel during the race.
