On the pace seems to be the place to be at Sligo this evening, and in race three another pace-setter prevailed when the Robert Tyner-trained Who Let De Dogsout took the Follow Sligo Races On Facebook Rated Novice Hurdle under Phillip Enright.
The Oscar mare was tackled by favourite Shantou Flyer from before the last. That Andrew McNamara-ridden Colin Bowe runner seemed to edge in slightly behind the winner on the run-in.
However McNamara got him running again in the closing stages and he certainly kept Who Let De Dogsout up to her work but she still had half a length to spare at the line.
The front pair left second market choice, The Mooch (3/1 into 9/4), all of fourteen lengths back in third.
Enright disclosed: "It wasn't the plan to make the running but nobody wanted to go on.
"She travelled well and jumped well and galloped all the way to the line.
"She likes an ease in the ground and I'd say she'll probably get a break. She won her point-to-point and she'll go chasing next season."
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Santo Prince (USA), trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis.
D.J. Condon, rider of Santo Prince (USA), trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled on the holding ground.
