Well-bred Chinx Of Light won on season reappearance, and second career outing, today landing Galway's Colm Quinn BMW Maiden Hurdle for trainer Barry Fitzgerald and jockey Brian Hayes.
Chinx Of Light finished second on his only previous run at Punchestown in March and today beat a pair of Gigginstown House Stud owned horses, runner-up Favori De Champdou and third-placed Barbary Master
Chinx Of Light is indeed a brother, by Shantou, to three Noel Meade-trained, Gigginstown-owned winners, including smart jumpers Wounded Warrior and Sword Of Destiny and following the race trainer Fitzgerald said “he has a good pedigree and I thought he might need the run but was fit enough to do it nicely.
“He quickened away from the back of the last and Brian Hayes gave him in an uncomplicated ride.
“He is a good horse and we'll go for Graded races now and hopefully they don't sell him for my sake.”
Chinx Of Light carries the colours of his breeder Stephen Lanigan-O'Keeffe and was withdrawn from two Sales, the first as a foal and again last March, following his debut run.
