Turasoir was another surprise winner at Ballinrobe this evening, as she took the Tim Kelly Group Handicap Hurdle at the odds of 25/1.
Successful over flights at Thurles in October, the John Nicholson trained five-year-old was placed three time since, but did disappoint on her most recent effort at Clonmel on May 17th.
Settled towards rear today, she made a mistake at the third and did well to avoid Bryan Cooper who had been unseated from the 7/2 favourite Torcello at that flight.
The successful daughter of Fast Company made good progress on the outer from the second last, and led from the final flight, going on to score easily by eight and half lengths under Mark Enright. Youngnedofthehill (25/1) finished second under Roger Loughran for Shane Nolan, while Fruits Of Glory (16s to 12s) was another two and a half lengths back in third under Chris Timmons for Eddie Cawley.
"She was third in Clonmel on her second last run - on the Flat - and we just thought she was a bit lazy," said Nicholson.
"We put cheek-pieces on her then for the last day and they drove her through the clouds.
"We took them off for today and that's the way to ride her - from behind.
"She loves that ground and I bought her from Pat Tallis as I was short of horses at the time about a year and a half ago.
"She's a nice summer mare and the ground was just lovely for her there.
"I picked up the Racing Post this morning and they had me on the cold list - I said by God I better get off that!"
