Eric McNamara recorded his second winner in as many days, as his Tristram Shandy took the last at Tipperary, the three mile Follow @tipperaryraces.ie Handicap Hurdle.

The nine-year-old son of Wizard King won once before today, beating subsequent dual Grade 1 winner Special Tiara in a maiden hurdle at Ballinrobe in June of 2012.

Fourth to Rolling Revenge at Kilbeggan last month, he was sent off a 14/1 chance today with Mark Bolger in the saddle.

Settled in mid-division, he took closer order on the outer with a circuit left to race. He hit the front after three out, and was ridden a few lengths clear after the next, going on to hold off the late effort of Naughty Molly by three parts of a length.

The runner-up was returned a 12/1 chance under Sean Flanagan for Shay Barry, while Cadawill (6/1) took third, a further two and a half lengths back under Davy Russell for Rodger Sweeney. Valbucca (16/1) completed the placings another three parts of a length back in fourth, while the 9/2 favourite Rolling Revenge could only manage a disappointing sixth under Mark Walsh for Martin Brassil.

Eric McNamara, who was on the mark yesterday with The Fitz Lady, said afterwards: "It's been a good 24 hours and he did it well.

"Three miles is his trip and he'll go for something similar next in a few weeks.

"I'm delighted for his owner/breeder Etna Fox, from Hospital, Co Limerick, who loves the horse and is a great supporter of mine."
