Timourid was a third winner in three days for trainer Paul Flynn when easily opening his account over flights in the Frenchpark Maiden Hurdle at Roscommon.
The County Longford based trainer has his string in excellent form at the present time, with this latest winner coming hot on the heels of Little Queenie at Naas on Saturday and The Big Chap at Sligo on Sunday.
A winner at the Curragh on Guineas weekend, Timourid was reverting to hurdles here having unseated early on on his sole previous attempt for former connections.
Always travelling easily under Keith Donoghue, the six-year-old tracked the leaders in fourth place turning for home, before being switched out to make his challenge at the second last flight.
A good jump at that penultimate obstacle saw the Flynn trained runner lead between the final two hurdles, stretching clear to win easily.
Paul Flynn said: “He jumps well. He’s never the bravest but fiddles away.
“He won a Premier Handicap two runs ago and it was too quick the last day in the Curragh.
“He wouldn’t want it any softer than that over jumps. The Flat lads could call that soft. He’s a bit tricky like that with the ground.
“The lads are from Galway and want to go there but I’m not convinced that he should be going there up that hill. He was there last year and I think it’s a track that he doesn’t love.
“He likes these flat tracks and he could boss it today. Something more competitive might be hard for him.”
