Act In Time found plenty on the run-in to land the spoils in the two-mile one-furlong handicap chase at Killarney this evening.

Padraig Roche 's charge was a well-supported 9/4 favourite (from 11/2 this morning) and tracked the leaders under Mark Walsh.

The JP McManus-owned gelding jumped up to challenge three from home and was in front over the penultimate fence.

He was joined by Black Scorpion after an untidy leap at the last but had enough in reserve to pull away again close home for a half length success.

"He is a homebred and it's a family we know all about and everyone of them got better with age. That was his first handicap and he was good over his fences and Mark gave him a great ride,” said Roche.

"He won his maiden hurdle around here so it's a track he likes. He likes the good ground and we'll find something in the near future and chasing seems to be his game."
