The Brown Lad Handicap Hurdle at Naas was a family success as Back In A Tic scored for the Kidd family.

The Flemensfirth mare is trained by Colin Kidd for his mother Amy and ran out a cosy two-length winner at 10/1.

Sean McDermott produced his mount to lead at the final flight and she was always doing enough on the run-in to score from Dancing Tornado

The winner was returning to handicap company having been a fair fifth behind Blazing Tempo in a hot mares hurdle at Gowran last time.

"They (winners) are few and far between so it's nice to win a big one," said Kidd afterwards.

"She's a good mare and has been second to the likes of Shadow Eile and Sea Of Thunder.

"The key is running her fresh on this heavy ground and on a big galloping track.

"We'll see what the handicapper says and she'll stay over hurdles for another couple of runs.

"The owner (mother Amy) is in Spain so that will keep her happy.

"She's a half-sister to Back Of The Pack, who won seven for me and won a graded race so it's a good family."

Jockey McDermott snapped a losing streak of 62 rides with this winner.
