Young Ted made light work of his eleven rivals in the Kaizen Brand Evolution Maiden Hurdle.

Second in a Grade B handicap hurdle at the Punchestown Festival in 2019, the Noel Meade trained gelding was expected to make the breakthrough over flights this afternoon and was sent off the clear market leader at 30/100.

A beaten favourite on his last two starts, the son of Fame And Glory stepped back up in trip to three miles today and was settled behind the leaders by Sean Flanagan.

He swept through to lead at the second last and was soon in command, going on to record a facile eleven length success. Gibberwell (28/1) finished second under Sean O'Keeffe for Brian Jordan, while Criq Rock (12/1) was a length and a half back in third.

Meade said afterwards: "He's done well with a break. He'd a few little issues last year and it just took him a while to get over them.

"He did promise to be a good horse when he was younger and hopefully he'll come back. He stays very, very well and I'd say he needs three miles."

STEWARDS REPORT

D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Bigly trained by David Harry Kelly, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a bad mistake at the second last.
