Surin landed the odds in the mares hurdle at Wexford where conditions seemed to take their toll on runners late on.
The Gordon Elliott-trained filly was sent to post a 4/6 shot for the two-and-a-half mile contest and Kevin Brogan bounced his mount out to make the running.
The Gigginstown-owned French-bred skipped a few lengths clear of the field over the fifth last and had her rivals at work running down the hill.
She appeared to get tired herself going to the second last and Brogan had to keep her up to her work in the closing stages to record a four-and-a-half length win over Uisce Solas
“She looked the obvious one on paper and she won well. It was straight-forward,” said assistant Ian 'Busty' Amond.
“It's nice for Kevin to get a winner and get going because he's a good young lad in the yard and he's well able to ride.
“Hopefully now he'll get going during the winter and I'm sure we'll make plenty of use of him with the 7lb claim.
“It's not easy for a young lad like that having to make the running.
“She got the job done. I don't know where he's going to go with her next, we'll see now.
“She didn't look to be doing much coming up to the second last but she picked up again and that was probably just the ground.”
