Kellstorm third to Investec Derby favourite US Army Ranger on his reappearance at the Curragh, gave the form of his more illustrious stable-companion something of a boost when taking the Fundraising Events At Tipperary Races Maiden.
The full-brother to Irish St Leger winner Order Of St George not surprisingly relished this step up to a mile and a half to justify odds of 4/5.
The son of Galileo led entering the straight under Seamie Heffernan, who needed to get serious over a furlong out.
However the Aidan O’Brien-trained colt kept on well inside the final 100 yards to beat Evening Hush by a length and a half. English Pale was a further length and a quarter back in fourth.
O'Brien said, "He's a staying horse and you'd have to be happy with that. His brother stayed well and he (Kellstorm) is a lovely genuine horse. He's possibly a horse for the Queen's Vase and will have one run in between then."
The Ballydoyle trainer added, "Order Of St George is being aimed at the Gold Cup but I have plenty of doubt about him getting two and a half miles. When any horse gets to two miles it's unknown territory. He did get 1m6f in a strongly run race on soft ground though."
Regarding his Guineas runners he added, "Air Force Blue is in good form and we might have two or three runners in the 1,000 Guineas. Minding, Alice Springs and Ballydoyle are all possibles at this stage."
