Sprinting star Sole Power recorded his first turf win on home soil when running out a game winner of the Derrinstown Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh.
Chris Hayes produced the 5/1 co-favourite to lead inside the final furlong but he had to repel a late lunge from fellow market leader Maarek to record a head victory.
The Kyllachy gelding has won five Group Ones for connections but his only previous wins in Ireland came early in his career on the all-weather at Dundalk.
"I'm delighted. I thought the ground had gone on him but I wanted to support the race," said Lynam.
"The Powers are great to train for and wouldn't have moaned if he had been beaten. I thought Jamie Spencer was going to ruin my day for a moment.
"He's been a great horse for me and has carried me for five or six years. I'm delighted he's won at home.
"He'll go to Paris for the weekend in October, then Hong Kong in December and Dubai in March. The same old boring old stuff!" Moviesta stable-mate of the winner, was the other co-favourite for the Group 2 contest but could only finish tenth.
