It probably had to happen at some stage and So Wonderful finally put a win on the board at the 15th attempt, in the Hashtag ForTheLoveOfKildare Fillies Maiden at the Curragh.
Placed more than once at Group One level Ballydoyle's So Wonderful has been frustrating to follow, beaten seven times from a position at the top of the market.
With blinkers on for the second time the War Front filly was understandably at her ease travelling through this mile assignment.
Wayne Lordan delivered her beautifully to beat Lady Anner by a neck.
“On her form you could see she has plenty of talent and it was nice to get her head in front to break her maiden,” said Lordan.
J.M. Sheridan, rider of Martha's Vineyard trained by John Joseph Murphy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly away and ran green.
At the request of the Stewards, O. McSweeney, rider of Rose Tinted Sand trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount met with interference early on as the field tightened up. Having considered this report, the Stewards reviewed the video evidence and concluded that no further action was warranted.
