Punters were kept happy when 4/6 favourite Rite Of Passage from the Dermot Weld stable came home in front of the Michael Cawe Suspended Ceilings Maiden under Pat Smullen for owner Dr Ronan Lambe making it a double on the day for connections.

Smullen sent the Giant’s Causeway gelding to the front from over a furlong out and kept on well for a two-and-length win over the Pat Martin trained Lucky At Last

Winning jockey Pat Smullen stated: “He was entitled to win that race. He’s a big galloping horse and the track really inconvenienced him today, he’ll be much better on a big galloping track.”
