After finishing second on his first two outings over hurdles, Sizing Gold got it right on the third attempt as he took the Ryans Cleaning 2m 4f Maiden Hurdle under Andrew Lynch for Henry De Bromhead.
The 5yo son of Flemensfirth won his bumper at Navan in February before he finished second to Seefood and Don Cossack on his first two starts over hurdles.
Sent off the 4/6 favourite this afternoon, he raced in second for much of the contest before he moved through to lead at the third last.
He was pushed out to assert before the last and he kept on strongly from there to record a comfortable three length win.
The Pat Fahy trained Morning Assembly ran a decent race to finish second at 4/1 under Davy Russell while the front running Hard To Swallow was a further twenty-six lengths back in third under Tom Doyle for Jim Culloty at 7/1.
Henry De Bromhead said afterwards: "He jumps and gallops. We dropped him back to two miles at Navan the last day and he ran well behind Don Cossack but looking at that performance I wonder why I dropped him back as he really wants further again.
"He is a massive hose and is a real stayer and one to look forward to over fences. I would imagine he will go for a novice over 2m 4f plus now and I wouldn’t be rushing to run him on fast ground."
Boylesports go 16/1 about the winner for the Albert Bartlett Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March.
