Supported down from as big as 12/1 earlier into a returned 5/1, Not Now Zeb defied top-weight in the concluding Care At Home Nursery Handicap at Naas.
Joey Sheridan claimed seven pounds off the Zebedee colt, and he was a second winner for that stallion on this card after Danielles Diamond’s success half-an-hour earlier.
Tom Mullins trains Not Now Zeb for his wife Helen and the two-year-old disputed in the centre, and was ridden a furlong and a half out.
The chestnut led in the final hundred and fifty yards, keeping on well though pressed close home, accounting for The King Of Kells by half a length.
“He didn’t run too bad in Navan the last day. He’s a free little horse and Joey got on so well with Nam who is also free that I said I’d give him a go on this fella as well," said Tom Mullins.
“He just gave him his head a bit early on and let him roll rather than fight him. The chap obviously has talent to settle a horse and has great confidence in himself.
“He only cost a few pound, and I'm thrilled to win with him. He might go for something similar, whether he’s good enough to come back for the Birdcatcher I’m not sure. Maybe if I got the same jockey claiming 7lb he might go for it.”
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Quick Quick trained by Noel Meade, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
