In Your Shadow ground out victory in the Kenny Developments Handicap Chase at Galway under a strong ride from Sean Flanagan.

The Gigginstown gelding crept into things to press the leaders at the last fence in the two-mile-six contest but a slight mistake there put him under pressure.

The Noel Meade-trained gelding responded well for Flanagan, however, as he wore down long-time leader, and fellow 10/3 joint-favourite, Crazywork De Vassy inside the final furlong to record a two-and-a-half length success.

In Your Shadow was returning to the larger obstacles this evening having been runner-up over hurdles on his last two outings.

"Getting him switched off is the key to him and the last day he ran he didn't really switch off, that was over hurdles though and everything happens a little bit faster,” said Flanagan.

"He made a few mistakes but jumped well most of the way today, he is a funny old horse. He has been so keen through his career, he has been hard to get a handle on but he is improving away and is handicapped to win another race."
