Those that found the forecast in race two at Dundalk will doubtless be able to reduce their working hours before Christmas as 40/1 Seti held 33/1 Bruce Lightning at the end of the seven furlong auction maiden.
Bruce Lightning led the field turning for home with Seti in behind the front rank but travelling fine for Robert Whearty.
The leader attempted to fight them all off, however, Seti was produced at the furlong pole and stayed on well to het his head in front in the closing stages.
He beat Bruce Lightning by half a length with Gesture a length and three-parts further back in third at 7/1.
Seti had one run on turf when finishing in rear at Cork in May after which he was gelded.
Noel Meade said: “He disappointed us the first day he ran, he ran terrible and showed nothing.
“He's a full-brother to Hokusai who has disappointed us a good few times, so I was afraid to be too confident.
“The 10lb (price allowance) and the 5lb claim left him well enough in and we had him down here a couple of times.
“He worked with Gordon's horse (Elliott, Coachello) who won in Lingfield last week, the good horse, and has worked at home with him. He didn't beat him or anything, but he did work with him.
“He was fit and ran through the line there.
“He's in good shape with himself, looks great and has a good skin on him. He's a real healthy horse and has been coming on nicely.
“We always thought he other fella (Hokusai) was quite good but he's failed to win so far, hopefully he will yet.”
The Tote Exacta paid €3868.30.
