Brilliant racehorse and sire, Sea The Stars, has already had a scattering of hurdle winners. One of his sons, Sea's Aria of limited ability on the level thus far, showed great prowess for the jumping game when scoring on his debut, in the St Patrick's Well Maiden Hurdle at Clonmel.
Sea's Aria passed through the ring out of the John Oxx yard, last October, for 10,000 guineas, and that looks good business now for his connections, after his win for trainer/rider Denis Hogan.
Sea's Aria didn't go un-backed at 11/1, and his supporters were on good terms with themselves when he led travelling well two out, from My Matador (bad mistake at this point).
From there the victorious Grace O'Brien Partnership-owned gelding went on to score by six lengths.
"He was impressive but it was an average race," stated Hogan.
"He wasn't a natural jumper at the start but we did plenty work with him and he went in a schooling hurdle at Tipperary last Friday and jumped so well that I decided to pull up at halfway and run here instead.
"He'll mix it for the summer and is a stayer for the flat."
Regarding his impressive recent bumper winner, Jack The Wire, he added: "He goes to Brightwells (Sales) on Thursday and ideally he will be sold to stay in the yard."
