Joey Sasa recorded his second success in less than a week, as he ran out a good winner of the concluding Killyhevlin Hotel INH Flat Race.
Having got off the mark on his third start at Galway on Sunday, the Noel Meade trained seven-year-old son of Winged Love was sent off a 3/1 chance today with Nina Carberry in the saddle.
Settled behind the leaders he improved to the front with over three furlongs to race. He was pushed along to extend his advantage with over a furlong to go, and he kept on well from there to score by three and a quarter lengths. An Dearg Mor (5/1) finished second under Patrick Mullins for his cousin Emmet, while the 11/10 favourite Morgan (backed from 7/4 on-course) could only manage third, a further fourteen lengths back under Luke McGuinness for Gordon Elliott.
Noel Meade said afterwards: "He missed a couple of years, not because he was injured, it was because he wasn't broken as they couldn't catch him!
"He's not too bad now. She just said he wants that ground. He jumps great.
"He's obviously decent. He stuck at it well and stays well. It looked a decent race beforehand."
The winner is a half-brother to dual winner Denegerous, who earlier finished fourth to Wolfslair in the fourth race on the card.
