The At The Races Handicap Chase at Tramore saw Royal Boru always up there in a pace-setting role under Keith Donoghue, and it took him all-the-way to victory in the penultimate event.
Favourite Line View was ridden in third in the dip when he slipped briefly and lost his action.
In any case there was no living with handicap chase debutant Royal Boru on this occasion, and he kept on well from the last for a nine length victory over Line View.
"He done it nicely. I was a bit worried about the track coming here today as it's sharp. He is a big horse and he got away with it today," said winning trainer Gillian Callaghan.
"We will see how he comes out of this and will go for something similar again.
"He will keep going over the summer, he likes top of the ground. He has an engagement at Listowel on Monday but we will see how he comes out of this first."
A family horse, the owner is the successful handler's brother in-law, Pearse Callaghan.
Third home, Corrigs was backed from 8's to 5's on-course.
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Line View trained by James Daniel Dullea was noted to have lost two fronts shoes following this race.
