Riviera Sun bounced back to form in the three mile one Racingtv.com Handicap Chase at Kilbeggan to give Henry de Bromhead a double on the card.
Once the 10-year-old took over at the fifth fence for Hugh Morgan, he enjoyed himself in front and stayed on well to close out the race by two and a quarter lengths at 8-1. Mossy White who was a morning-price gamble, kept on for second at 8/1. He came in seven and a half lengths in front of Presentingprincess the 7/2 favourite.
Henry de Bromhead said: “It was a super ride from Hugh and it's great to get one for Mr McManus.
“He really battled well. Obviously his form had been a bit disappointing recently but I think just the change of tactics really helped him.
“He really enjoyed himself and Hugh got a great tune out of him. He jumped from fence to fence and loved it.
“They raced from a long way and he really kept going. It possibly helped us a little bit that they knocked each other around a bit in behind him.
“There is a race back here in two weeks but I'd say that would be too soon so we'll see.”
