Renneti justified odds-on favouritism in the four runner Group 3 Loughbrown Stakes.

An impressive fourteen length winner of the October Handicap over the course last year, the Willie Mullins trained gelding has mixed it between hurdles and the level since.

He was successful in a Grade 2 contest over flights at Fairyhouse in April, and also came home in front on the level at Galway last month.

Available at 11/10 last night, he was odds-on on-course, eventually going off a 4/5 chance under Pat Smullen.

Having raced in second, the French bred son of Irish Wells improved to dispute the lead from early in the straight.

He got to the front two furlongs from home, and was soon ridden clear, going on to score comfortably by five lengths.

The front-running Stars Over The Sea finished second under Wayne Lordan for Henry De Bromhead, while 2/1 chance Wild Irish Rose was three lengths back in third.

Willie Mullins said afterwards: "Hopefully this time of year he will keep getting the ground he likes with plenty of dig in it. He'll probably stick to this sort of trip and he could go for the race in Ascot (Long Distance Cup)."

Boylesports go 10/1 about the winner (from 16/1) for Long Distance Cup.
