Psycho cruises to novice success
Psycho made all for an effortless win in the Arkle Bar Novice Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse.
It was a treble on the card for Ruby Walsh and a double for trainer Tony Martin.
The 5/4 favourite was left clear at the second last when Swift Counsel and An Cathaoir Mor departed and cruised home for a seven-length success.
"His strong point is his jumping. He's as natural as I've ever seen, so nimble and accurate, and showed from the first day that he's a pure natural," said Martin.
"We only stuck him him tomorrow as a precaution and he won't run. Hopefully he pulls out of this well and we'll go to Punchestown.
"I would love to have a crack at the Grade One novice over two miles. I didn't take them on yesterday (Powers Gold Cup) as I wanted to get another run into him.
"The Irish ones that run yesterday would be doing well to pull out of that and win at Punchestown."
Martin had struck earlier with Hold The Pin while Walsh had teamed up with Willie Mullins to score with Mourad and Cousin Vinny
David Casey suffered a suspected fractured pelvis in his fall from An Cathaoir Mor.
