Polly Douglas bounced back to form to land her third win of the season in the five-furlong handicap at Navan this evening.
Andrew Breslin held his mount up in the early stages before getting a nice run up the rail to challenge going to the furlong pole.
The Kieran Cotter-trained filly stuck her head in front in the closing stages to post a head victory over Aggression in a tight finish.
The 9/1 winner had won her first two starts this season but could only finish mid-division at Naas on her most recent outing when sent off favourite.
“That's the hat-trick for the year now. I said to David at the start of the season that she'd win three. I hope I'm wrong now and she might get another one somewhere!” said Cotter.
“We were baffled the last day in Naas with her run. She just didn't fire at all and maybe she was in season or maybe she just got out of bed the wrong way.
“She was in great order so we said we'd come back here and have a crack at this. Andrew gave her a great ride.
“She's by a sire than stands outside Nurney, Le Cadre Noir, for Aidan Sexton. We have a few of them at home. They might not be very fashionable but they all run and win. He's good value for money.
“There is no reason why she can't move up a grade now. She's a small filly so we'll keep the weight off her back. She'll run away in these handicap sprints and we'll see.”
