A lot of water will pass under the famous 'throw-me-down-something' bridge at Listowel before Coneygree takes to the racecourse next September.

But racing returns to the Co Kerry track for the first time since last September's Festival today where talk of the Gold Cup hero will be on everyone's lips ahead of an all-Flat fixture.

Most valuable event on the card is the €20,000 Follow Listowel Races On Facebook Handicap, in which six runners are headed by the 89-rated Geological in a tight contest. Patuano was a winner on her reappearance run at Cork last month and while raised 7lb for the win, that penalty is offset by the presence of 10lb claimer Nathan Crosse.

Johnny Feane 's Burn The Boats had been in excellent form prior to a disappointing run at the Curragh recently but can still play a part, while the Patrick Prendergast-trained Brave Display runs from 4lb out of the handicap but has been in fine fettle and is ridden by capable 7lb claimer Sean Davis.

Co Limerick trainer Austin Leahy bids to win the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden for the second year running and having dead-heated to win with Fox Dream in 2016, sends out Drombeg Dream

The daughter of Arcano showed ability on debut at Naas, in a maiden won by the exciting Alpha Centauri, before filling third place at Cork last month and has solid claims, although newcomers with solid profiles are Monkeylou and Dream Of Words

The concluding Bryan MacMahon (QR) Race has attracted just five runners, four of which have yet to win but one of which, Tirmizi was once very smart and is now rated 96.

The Dermot Weld-trained Tirmizi made a smart winning debut at Leopardstown in October 2015 but has raced just twice since, both at that Dublin venue, in May 2016 and again when finishing last of six on his comeback run last month.

Finny Maguire takes off a valuable 5lb and the son of Sea The Stars looks in a different league to his rivals.
