It was smooth for Patrick Mullins on Robin Des Foret as he pegged it back to a deficit of two winners on Jamie Codd as they both go 'hell for leather' for the 2016/17 amateur rider's crown. Owned by Byerley Racing Syndicate and trained by Willie Mullins, Robin Des Foret justified 5/4 favouritism in the Point To Point Evening 11th May Maiden Hurdle at Tipperary.

The Robin Des Pres gelding seemed to guess a bit at the last but that made no difference whatsoever as he eventually accounted for Leomar by six and a half lengths.

"That was easy! He loved the ground and particularly likes flat tracks. He has a huge stride and I think his jumping will come on from the experience," commented Patrick Mullins.

"He has plenty of size and will jump fences next year. They'll have plenty of fun for the summer with him.

"That gets me within two winners of Jamie (Codd) - Jamie is riding out of his skin but is suspended tomorrow and I have two rides so I'll have to make hay now.

"I have eight or ten rides against professionals until the end of the season but hopefully I'll give him a run for his money - it's going to be very hard."
