On the back of a promising debut third placing at the Curragh in August White Satin Dancer ran out an impressive victor of the opening Irish Stallion Farms E.B.F. Fillies Maiden at Leopardstown under Wayne Lordan.

The Oasis Dream grey travelled like a dream, and it was clear from before entering the straight that David Wachman's 4/1 shot was going to take a lot of holding.

Appearances in this case weren't deceptive as White Satin Dancer, a German-bred, bounded away to beat Xenobia (50/1) and Key To My Heart (90-rated 2/1 favourite) by four and three parts of a length and two and a half lengths.

"She's a filly we've always liked. We ran her in a group race first time out and she ran a good race. The race actually worked out as good as you can get it," said Lordan.

"Today she travelled easy and picked up well, she's a smart filly.

"I was a little bit cautious as she's after coming back from a break and has done well. She needed the break, filled out and got strong.

"I was hoping I wasn't going to get there too soon and she'd have a blow but it didn't happen and it all worked out well."

On next season and Wachman's retirement Lordan commented: "We’ll tip away and see what way we go.

"I had great years with David - 11 years. It's a pity but life goes on and we all have to move on.

"Legatissimo is probably the standout filly. She was an incredible filly."

C.P. Hoban, rider of Wingingit trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount had to check in running.
