Misty makes all for Moyglare glory
Misty For Me made every post a winning one to grab Group One glory in the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh today.
Seamus Heffernan gave the Galileo filly a canny ride from the front and she found plenty for pressure when tackled by Laughing Lashes a furlong-and-a-half out.
The Ballydoyle filly always had too much up her sleeve, sticking on well for a length sucess. Kissable finished strongly back in third, just held for the runner-up spot by a neck. 1/1f Memory was under pressure some way out and was only sixth.
It was Aidan O'Brien's first sucess in the race since Rumplestiltskin triumped in 2005.
The 10/1 winner was gaining revenge on Laughing Lashes, who had beaten her over course and distance in the Debutante Stakes earlier in the month.
"She's very progressive. That day she won her maiden was only her second start and she has progressed every run. Even the last day when the filly got by her she wasn't finished," said O'Brien.
"Her dam is a half-sister to Fasliyev so there is speed there. The Galileo's don't know when to give up. She's so courageous and has the pace to go.
"Seamus always felt she was crying out for a mile. We'll have a look at the Fillies Mile at Ascot for her while France (Prix Marcel Boussac) is also a possible.
"She's not short of speed and stays very well."
