Trainer Noel Meade continued a fine run of form when Ladysingstheblues made a winning start over jumps in the mares maiden hurdle at Punchestown.

Sean Flanagan tracked the leaders on the 3/1 shot in the two-miler but came under pressure in fourth jumping the second last.

The Robin Des Champs mare knuckled down to leap into the lead over the last, however, and kept on well in the closing stages to record a five-and-a-half length success.

The winner was doubling up having landed a bumper at Clonmel on her previous start 13 days ago.

"She's a grand little mare but I'd say that's as quick as she'd want it,” said Meade.

"I told Paul (Hunt, owner) earlier that he had two good jumpers running today but the other horse (Major Destination) didn't jump well at all.

"She wants a bit further but the good gallop was a help and Sean is riding great. I don't see any reason why she won't continue over the summer."
