Fourni benefitted from a fine tactical ride by Jane Mangan to just hold off the late surge of hot-favourite Shesafoxylady in the Jamie Kyne Memorial Mares Bumper.
Mangan made the decisive move when driving the Willie McCreery-trained four-year-old into a clear lead off the home turn as Patrick Mullins was caught in a pocket on the inner aboard the evens favourite.
Those who supported the ‘jolly’ must have been cursing their luck as the Willie Mullins-trained mare closed rapidly in the final 100 yards but just lost out by a short-head.
She’s A Leader was a further two and a half lengths back in third.
McCreery said, “My wife and father-in-law bred her but being a chestnut filly we couldn’t sell her. This was going to be her last chance in a bumper and Jane stole it on the turn into the straight.
“I’m not sure about plans. She’s only small but jumps well and she might run over a mile and six furlongs on the Flat. She pops out of stalls well.”
