Lynott and Cave share spoils
The apprentice handicap at Navan produced another thrilling finish with the judge unable to split Lynott and Aladdins Cave on the line.
Padraig Beggy had sent Aladdins Cave to the front over a furlong from home but he was strongly pressed in the closing stages.
Both Lynott and Alajan finished to great effect and it was the former who joined Colm Murphy's Aladdins Cave on the line.
Lynott, trained by Gerard Keane and ridden by Danny Mullins, had been the subject of a morning gamble (8/1 to 9/2) and the support continued on track as he was sent off 7/2 favourite.
"Half a loaf is better than no bread!," quipped Keane afterwards.
"He doesn't seem to let himself down early on that ground but warmed to it and flew home."
