It proved lucky 13 for Fly De Megaudais as he struck in the Killeen Sportsgrounds Handicap Hurdle at Ballinrobe for Michael McDonagh.

The 16/1 shot was produced with a well-timed run by Darragh O'Keeffe to lead on the run-in in the extended two-mile-one contest.

Having made ground up on the home-bend he hit the front after the last to record a three-parts-of-a-length win over the fast finishing Amadeus

The winner was making his 13th career outing and had finished sixth on his most recent outing at Wexford last week.

“Badly needed," quipped McDonagh as he rushed off to claim his prize.
