Ruby Walsh drove Low Sun home to win on his Irish debut for Willie Mullins at Bellewstown.
The four-year-old gelding, sporting the Ricci silks, was well backed from 13/8 in the morning to 4/6f on the off for this extended two mile maiden hurdle.
He wasn't fluent at several flights but closed on the leaders at the penultimate hurdle.
He then delivered his challenge on the run-in and hit the front close home to win by half a lengths. Artful Artist (10/1) came in second with Felix Mendelssohn (25/1) another half a length back in third.
Ruby Walsh said: "He got there in the end, he won and that's the main thing. He did stay well. He kept going well. Let's hope it's onwards and upwards."
