Noble Intention (10/1) took the Stackallen Apprentice Handicap (Division 1) in the hands of Dylan Browne McMonagle.

The Zebedee gelding travelled well to lead inside the final quarter mile, and kept on well to defeat Amlad and Misty Millie by three quarters of a length and the same.

The Lady’s Bid was sent off the 10/3 favourite and finished sixth.

The winner, although many times placed, had not managed to win since landing a 2-y-o maiden at Dundalk

in 2016 for previous trainer Ger Lyons.

He had run well off a long lay-off when fifth to Wilderness at Gowran Park last month.

It was a third winner of the season for the victorious apprentice who’s attached to Joseph O’Brien’s yard.

Winning trainer Tony Martin was not available for comment.
