Lessofdnegativity was an appropriately named winner on the most hopeful of days - New Year's Day 2021, at Tramore today, in the Tramore Medical Clinic Handicap Hurdle under Savills Chase winning jockey Darragh O'Keeffe, for trainer Andew McNamara senior.

O'Keeffe gained a famous win on the Henry De Bromhead trained A Plus Tard in the Savills Chase at Leopardstown four days ago and today, brimming with confidence, produced Lessofdnegativity with a cool last-to-first, inside ride to eventually gain a half-length win over Satin Sun

The son of Westerner today sported a first time tongue-tie and afterwards Robbie McNamara, representing his father, reported “he had a little wind operation since his last run.

“We just rode him a bit different today and gave him more of a chance early. Darragh took his time and gave him a brilliant ride. He is worth his weight in gold.

"My father was going to send him over fences not long ago, he is a half-brother to Joe Farrell who won the Scottish National so has a good staying Irish pedigree and chasing will be his game - he'll go chasing at some stage during the year.

"It's a nice way to start the year and a nice winner for the father. It's a nice winner for the owners as well, they have a couple of horses in the yard and they are good supporters.”
