Sir John Lavery strode clear inside the final furlong to open his account in impressive fashion in the opening mile maiden at Gowran Park this afternoon.
The Ballydoyle colt had shaped with plenty of promise when third on his debut at the Curragh eight days ago and confirmed that with an authoritative display.
Despite missing the kick slightly the 8/13 shot was soon in mid-division under Seamus Heffernan.
He was asked to take closer order passing two pole and went on over a furlong out. The son of Galileo pulled clear in the closing stages to score by seven lengths from newcomer Haripour
“He'd a lovely run the last day, and he didn't mind the ground. He gave me a nice feel, and it's what you would want him to be doing on his second run,” said the winning rider.
