The Charles Hurst Premium Nursery could hardly have worked out any better for Ado McGuinness as he saddled a 1-2 with Lady Manderville just holding off stablemate Liffey View at Down Royal.
Just seven went to post but it proved a very competitive heat with most holding a chance inside the final quarter mile of this seven-furlong event.
Lady Manderville struck the front inside the final furlong, and kept on well for Seamie Heffernan to score by half a length.
The McGuinness pair stretched nearly five lengths clear of favourite Intenser in third.
McGuinness said, “She'll go to Fairyhouse over six furlongs the week after next. She has only been out of the money once all year, and was probably a bit unlucky she didn't win the last day in Bellewstown.
“I was a bit worried about the trip but he dropped her in and gave her a good ride. She's small and dainty and we'll tip away in nurseries. It was good to have the first two. The owner is from Tandragee, Co Armagh."
Incidentally winning owner Leslie Laverty’s son David confirmed that Tandragee is “the home of Tayto crisps!”
