Aces And Kings produced another game front-running performance to land the Sean Hughes Memorial Handicap Chase at Kilbeggan.

The Willie Newman-trained gelding was following up victory in a hunters chase at Tramore 11 days ago.

Andrew Lynch went clear on the 11/4 favourite from the sixth fence. His lead was reduced two from home and he soon came under pressure.

Zardsky looked for a moment like he might be capable of pegging back the winner but a mistake at the last put paid to his chances.

Aces And Kings plugged on to record a seven-and-a-half length success.

“It wasn't the plan to go off in front but he jumped brilliantly,” said the Kells trainer, who also owns and bred the winner.

“He was unlucky when he fell here before (June 2012). I knew he'd rally again when another horse came at him.”
