Liffey View had finished behind her fellow Ado McGuinness inmate Lady Mandeville at Down Royal four weeks ago but she reversed form with that one tonight in the Crowe Plaza Hotel Race & Stay Nursery Handicap at Dundalk.

On start number eight the successful chestnut benefitted from the Declan McDonogh drive, having had to be switched to the outer a furlong and a half out, as she went on to defeat Just A Penny (8s into 9/2 favourite) by two lengths.

The aforementioned Lady Mandeville had to settle for fifth on this occasion.

Liffey View is owned by two sons of well-known Kerry racing and football man, Donie Sheehan, Kieran and Liam. The former is a doctor in St Vincent's Hospital in Dublin whilst the latter followed his father into the profession of pharmacist.

"I was going to leave her off after this but she could run again at Leopardstown at the end of the month," disclosed McGuinness.

"There is also a mile nursery at Cork next weekend but we'll have to see what the handicapper does.

"She's improving all the time. She's a big filly and hopefully she'll improve again next year.

"She was drawn bad (stall twelve) but she got a good ride from Declan. He's been lucky for me this year."

T.P. Madden, rider of Perfect Fit trained by David Wachman, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount got unbalanced down the back straight and collided with the running rail.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Not Really trained by D. K. Weld, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be clinically normal.
