Dragon Fei was another pregnant mare to bloom at the Curragh today when she ran out a convincing winner of the www.trm-ireland.com Handicap.

Billy Lee 's mount travelled well to lead two furlongs from home in the ten furlong contest and was sent clear over a furlong from home.

Dermot McLoughlin 's charge ran on well in the closing stages to post a four-and-a-half length winning margin over My Direction

The winner was landing her third course success and had taken the same race back in 2014.

“She's in foal to Dandy Man and it seems to have sweetened her up,” said McLoughlin.

“She travelled well and Billy said half way around he know he had the race won but he didn't want to hit the front too soon.

“She loves that ground and is a stone better on it. When she came off it he said he had plenty of horse left under him.

“She's a different animal on the ground and travels and travels.

“All going well and depending on the ground she might go to Leopardstown next Thursday. We'll see how she is but she hasn't really raced there, she won very easy.”

Owner David Eiffe added:- “That's her third time winning here and second time winning this race.

“As long as the ground stays we we'll keep going and if it stays wet we'll try and nick a little bit of black-type.

“We've another couple of months with her as she's only recently in foal. If we get a wet summer we'd be happy.”
