Ground eases at Leopardstown
The going at Leopardstown promises to be significantly softer for today's BHP Insurance Irish Champion Hurdle meeting following overnight rain and the prospect of up to 20mm in total.
There was 6mm of rain overnight at the south Co. Dublin track, with the going described as soft at 10am this morning.
It is currently raining in Foxrock and the forecast is for further persistent rain today. There will be fresh ground as the inner hurdle track will be in use. Hurricane Fly makes his eagerly awaited seasonal debut in the feature, with the Willie Mullins-trained gelding facing four rivals.
The going was yielding (good to yielding in places) at Leopardstown yesterday when the outer hurdle track was in use.
