Point-to-point winner Glasslyn Road gained his first racecourse win at Tramore today, landing the Best Price Guarantee At thetote.com Handicap Chase for trainer James Dullea and jockey Philip Enright.
The son of Dr Massini was clear when surviving a final fence mistake and in the end scored a comfortable two and a half lengths win over West Ship Master
Bandon, Co Cork based Dullea is a regular visitor to the course's winners' enclosure and later quipped “we were struggling all winter because Tramore wasn't on!”
He added “we have this horse just over a year and he has always worked a lot better than his form would suggest.
“For a big horse we were trying to keep him on soft ground but I think he wants a bit of nice ground like he had today and I think that's what brought out the difference in him.
“Phillip gave him a great ride, he jumped brilliant bar the last. I'd say he will stay on the go for the summer provided the ground isn't too quick and hopefully he'll be up to winning another one.
"It's been frustrating for his owners (Catriona O'Donovan) but it has come right thank God. They are brilliant supporters of mine and we wouldn't be operating only for them."
